Mattias Holmgren
Born 1978 in Umeå, Sweden.

Likes to sing & write songs, drum, play guitar and practise all instruments I can get my hands on, visualize, paint & travel with my family. I also enjoy playing with my wonderful son Elliot who was born 25:th of April 2008. He’s going to be a badass drummer.

Since 2003 I’ve been running my own media production company called MORNINGDEW MEDIA where I deal with audio & visual design for computer games / web & print.
From time to time I also produce albums with bands.
Released my first album at the age of 17 with the band Naglfar, “Vittra”.
After that I’ve been releasing about one album each year with different projects. Most recently I produced the second album with AZURE “King of stars – Bearer of dark”.
I’m also the founder of EMBRACING and joined SUPREME MAJESTY on keyboards durint 2006-2007 for some shows and festivals like Sweden Rock, Tivolirock.
My main instruments are piano and drums. But I also fool around with most rock oriented instruments and my voice.
I love all kinds of interesting music styles, but an album produced by David Foster is always close at hand.
I also listen to Symphony X, Marillion, Enchant, Pain Of Salvation, Meshuggah, Yes, Queen and Dream theater.

I’ve been programming since I was 15 in alot of various languages like C-64 Basic, Atari – STOS / GFA Basic and Assembler, PC – Pascal, C, C++, Tasm etc.
Today it’s mostly actionscript 3.0, php 5, ajax & mysql.
I remember back in 1994 during schooltime I was making this game “Chug – Endless worlds” in Turbo Pascal, and ended up doing C++ combined with in-line assembler for the tile game project and other various map-editors, sprite-painting programs etc.

Fable 2, Zelda – Phantom Hourglass, Oblivion, Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, Dungeon Master, Battlefield 2, Metroid, Castlevania, Lands of lore III, Daggerfall, Arena, Sierra Games, Might & Magic, Jade Empire & Ninja Gaiden.

I just wanted to share my thoughts, music, design ideas, concepts and give some insight into my studio and what projects I’m currently working on with Morningdew Media.
