Lawnmower kids
Posted on | August 21, 2010 | No Comments
It’s time to announce one of the games I worked on lately, which is available on the AppStore.
LawnMower Kids is a game where you control three kids and their lawnmowers to cut some serious grass. The game was developed by Dohi Sweden.
I wrote a jazzy 50′s inspired menu theme and created sound effects for the title.
Description
A cutting-edge lawn mowing game for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.
LawnMowerKids is a non-violent, 1950′s themed casual game that challenges your multitasking abilities and mowing skills. It’s a game that lets you control 3 kids, each with a different mowing machine.
Lawn mowing is normally a peaceful job, but not when the gardens are full of dogs, flowers and party guests that get in the way. Use the different mower types to work out the best strategies and tricks for each new lawn.
- Wonderful 1950′s suburban environments.
- 21 true-to-the 50ies lawns to mow.
- Avoid cats, dogs, flower settings, football players, party guests and grumpy old Joe.
- Collect Mr. Mowman’s coveted medals by beating set times for each level.
- Original Soundtrack.
- Lots of humor.
- Increasing difficulty – increasing pace.
And remember, even if the grass is greener on the other side you still have to mow it!
Recommended iPod Touch 3rd generation, iPhone 3GS, iPad or iPhone 4.
Go check it out and tell all your friends about it!

You might think that the summer lazyness got to me…but I’ve actually done a few songs beside swimming the pool and getting a tan.
The Following day, is a track I did which would be played during a level-complete screen of a game (TBA).
Fangs of the heretic, another club dance track produced while fiddling with some of the new virtual instruments I bought before the vacation.
Welcome summer!

Ahh, at last we have some sun. Too bad it always comes after the weekend, which was a wet one.. Hopefully next weekend will be sunny, since it’s midsummer!
Today I’ve been hacking a bit on our game LUMINATI, fixed the shine animation on the tokens and also implemented a handler to free up memory after each animation has been finished. I still feel objective-c is a bit strange after coding so much actionscript 3 and php. But on the other hand you have more control over the memory management…which is both good and bad. =)
I re-stringed my Ibanez RG570 a few days ago and took the opportunity to clean the frets…which hadn’t been done for a while. It looks brand new after the treatment and sounds accordingly.

Awaiting the Kontakt 4 upgrade which I ordered last week. Gonna be fun to try out the new library and updated functionality AET (authentic Expression Technology – crossover morphing between patches).
There are also alot of new impulses in Kontakt 4 for some serious processing, and some hotted performance-views.
I’m using Kontakt as the main sampler since it’s so powerful in sound design.
Over’n out!
New electronic track.

Last weekend we visited my parents in Holmsund and did some major work on the foundation for the new porch. We also placed two new brickwalls. Sunday morning we also made a short boat trip which was really nice.

Creazy week

As always I’ve had a creazy week. Did tons of sound effects and creazy music pieces for a few secret projects. =)
It’s been too much work lately to keep up with writing my blogg and updating the Morningdew Media web, myspace, you noob ect. etc…
Well I’m going to give it a shot this weekend when I’m finished with some deadlines.
A few weeks ago I did some orchestral music cues and sound design for the “The Fishermans Friend Facebook Adventure” game which was developed by SMFB (Forsman & Bodenfors). It ended up really cool, check the game out and win some prizes!

Aside from that I’m considering getting a Gibson Les Paul (I’m quite bored with the Ibanez sound at the moment…haha.)
Back to making music!!!
See ya!
Productive May

Oh, I forgot to update my blog for a while. It’s been very busy in the Morningdew Media studio, I’ve been creating tons of music and sound effects for various projects. If you haven’t checked out Flightdeck for iPhone be sure to do so. It’s a really cool game.
I bought some new percussion stuff this week, some Meinl bongos etc.
Haven’t had alot of time updating my website with new demos, but I will try to do so in June, there’s alot of new stuff I want to show you.
Last week I designed a poster and a flyer for the upcoming Umeå Creative Dating event which will launch May 28. Be sure to stop buy for a chat!
Luminati, bronze placement in the come2play competition.

I just got the announcements from the come2play.com flash competition which we entered into with our puzzle game LUMINATI. Our game is one of the three winners, we got (3rd) bronze placement and won $1000, which is cool! Celebrate with us and try out a Luminati match over at come2play.com.
The comments from the jury-panel reads:
“…Connect 4 on crack, this game combines the classic strategy of Connect 4 with powerups to alter the game play. Mornigdew Media put together amazing SFX and great design to deliver this classic game to another level.”
Control surface via iPhone
Posted on | April 20, 2010 | 1 Comment
Oh my god, I just discovered the AC-7 control surface on the iPhone.
Basically it’s a control surface (you know those old knobs and sliders from the mixerboards of yesterday) which works via WiFi.
To make it work with your sequencer (Logic in my case) you just install a little app on your MAC called DSWiFi (developed for the Nintendo DS wifi transfer) and you’re good to go. The interface gives you 8 sliders, transport bar, rec-buttons and many more features to navigate and make your recording smoother.
I’m gonna give it a shot in a live recording situation later tonight when me and Nicklas are going to rehearse some new songs for the upcoming gig at Stadsfesten.
The only “con” with the AC-7 controller is the iPhone in itself which is quite small…but then again, here comes the iPAD and suddenly you will not need those other expensive controller devices. =)
The feature I like the most with the app is that it supports track-naming! At the top of the mixer interface you see the track names which makes it easy to navigate and control your whole mix from the device. =)
AMAXING MAXIMUS!!!!

Embracing at Stadsfesten.

My band Embracing is confirmed to play at Stadsfesten 2010.
It will probably be a blast since we didn’t play any other gigs since last years Trästocksfestivalen. Me and my brother are currently fiddling with a few new songs which might see the light at the festival.
Here are some photos from last years Stocken-festival.

Today I’m in Holmsund for the easter celebration, my family (Linda and Elliot) is in Kristinehamn but I had to stay home due to all the recent workload which is on my table at the moment. We have a major update on Lockbee (backup solution) which will launch in a day or two, and I’m working on the iPhone version of our game Luminati, creating sound and graphics for some other games etc. But hey that’s just good news!!!

I bought the hipstamatic iPhone app the other day, amazing product, brings alot of life into the digital era of photography!
Be sure that I’ll post some new photos soon…and alot of new songs of course. =)
I’m still working on my piano album, but haven’t really decided yet which tracks I should include…
Hehe, another little pic of my dude Elliot trying out my shoes.
